I saw this heron stalking fish in the lake just below our yard. He's not as close as herons sometimes got to our house in Glebe Harbor but I have a stronger zoom lens then I used there, so these pictures don't show how far away I was.
A disadvantage of the zoom is that it's weight makes it harder to hold the camera steady. I wasn't using a tripod so some other shots were blurred. I try to take duplicates "just in case."
See my 2005 post: Great Blue Heron
It is a beautiful shot.
ReplyDeletelove the greens reflecting in the water to frame him.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots. I generally need a tripod anymore with the camera; a little age on my body has forced that upon me.
ReplyDeleteWe get a couple of those coming to our little lake every once in awhile.
ReplyDeleteFabulous. I have been trying to get a shot of these at our local park. They have a heron sanctuary there. Super shots.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I like all the different shades of green.
