Different Crops

snow scene with bench

This scene was in our yard on Monday or Tuesday when the snow was coming down. Almost all of the snow melted yesterday.

We are looking at two different versions of the same photo. I liked the tree trunks on the right so first I tried cropping the picture in a panoramic shape (twice as long as tall).

Unfortunately, you can't really see the geese in that version. So I cropped in further to bring them into view. Which picture do you like?

  5. I like the first for its composition. Though I'm glad for the second because I would have missed seeing the geese.

  8. I didn't notice the geese in the first photo until you mentioned them. I like the second one better, I think.

  10. I like the second picture best, the geese kind of sneak up on you, and there's something interesting or unexpected about them in the snow and next to the partial bench.

  11. I love both, though a very slight preference for the second because those geese are such a great sight! I'd have missed them without the zoom

  12. Isn't it great to be able to "crop" and edit your photos !!! Sometimes we can make a great photo out of one we were ready to delete. Happy Easter. Mickie :)
