I took these pictures on Monday. There was a succession of birds visiting the railing of the deck as they waiting for a turn at the feeders. As the day wore on, the snow wore off.

    wilf, We are in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We chose our current house because of the location: only 5 miles from a town that offers shopping, just a little farther from an interstate highway, in a subdivision bordered by farms on 2 sides, the Shenandoah River on another side, and mountains and national forest on the other side. Very convenient, peaceful, and offering plenty of beautiful things to see! We feel very fortunate.

    Julie, I have "Share" buttons at the bottom of the blog but not for individual posts. There are gadgets you can install for sharing each post. I experimented with them at one time but found they messed up my Blog2Print books until I took them out one at a time.

    I print an annual copy of my blog. It's not cheap but I can't expect Blogger to host this blog forever.

    only common bird we have with you there is the dove. well common in my area that i know of.
