Ben makes a friend

I kept the dogs pretty much separate for the first day or two, and I still separate them at meal time and whenever I cannot supervise them. But Ben and Scamp are getting along.

During their first play session, Ben established his position as top dog by scaring Scamp with a ferocious growl and taking away his ball (pictured). For their next session, I provided two balls and there was no growling. During playtime today, Ben went in his crate and picked up his squeaky toy, brought it into the living room and squeaked it several times, and let Scamp sniff it. (Scamp did not try to squeak it.)  This is a toy that Ben uses as a pillow and I think it's a bit of a treasure.

I should probably knock on wood when I write this, but Ben seems to behave better with Scamp around.
